Old Time Jam with Tony Goldenberg

The first Old Time Jam of the the season will be led by local musician, Tony Goldenberg. He will be playing simple southern tunes starting in in the key of A (AEAE tuning). He is planning to teach Pretty Little Girl (or something like it) then will be playing tunes in the key of D (ADAE). Tony's playing focuses more on rhythm and less notes. So get out your fiddles, banjos, guitars, etc and come join us. You are encouraged to bring snacks for the break and to donate a couple of bucks (or more) to help with the ongoing costs of maintaining the Grange hall.

Local caller, Dave Thielk will be hosting the monthly Quimper Grange Square Dance and Social at the Cotton Building (right next to the Pope Marine Park) in downtown Port Townsend on Saturday, September 10th, at 8 PM as part of the 2016 Wooden Boat Festival He will be calling squares, circles and reels to live music. The Seattle based band Scrimshaw Stringband will be playing rocking hard traditional dance music with a seafaring edge. Partners and experience are not necessary. All dances taught. All ages welcome. Square dancing on deck during calm seas has been part of the sailor's tradition for hundreds of years. Celebrate this year's festival with a square dance at the Cotton
Building.. From 8 PM to 10 PM. Free.

Contra Dance: Au Contraire Playing, Tinker Cavallaro Calling
Tinker Cavallaro will be calling to the lively dance music of Au Contraire at the third Saturday contra dance on Sept 17th. Come join in the fun as we dance together. Contra dancing is a wonderful, traditional, community building dance form. No partner necessary.
The dance will start at 7:30 and end about 10:30. The cost is $6.00, 18 and under for $3.00, free for little ones under 3.
