The idea is to increase square footage of garden space for food growing and for beautification. At present the Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden donates over 2,000 pounds of produce annually to the Jefferson County Food Bank; our Grange Month Project aims to increase the harvest!

April 5th, 7-9 Old Time Jam, Led by Tony Goldenberg
Tony will start the jam teaching “Little Gal’ll Fool Ya”, a Roan Mountain Hilltoppers tune in the key of D and switching to the key of A and may play something in G. For those of us familiar with Tony’s excellent southern fiddling style this will be a real treat; rhythm, tone, cool tunes. What more could you ask for?

April 8th, (Sat) 7:00pm “Three Traditions” House Concert

On April 8th at 7:00pm Quimper Grange will host a house concert featuring three fiddlers from three traditions.
Kristian Bugge, Ruthie Dornfeld, and Jamie Fox will come together for an evening of music that combines the textures of their three distinct traditional styles creating a complex and multilayered performance.

Bugge (Denmark) is widely considered a master of traditional Danish music while Dornfeld (Oregon) is regarded as an expert of old-time American tunes, as well as styles ranging from Celtic to Scandinavian folk. Lastly, Fox (Montana) is one of the most well-known young players of Metis fiddle music which is a tradition crossing ties of Celtic, French and Native American music cultures.  All three of these fine players are well known to participants at Centrum’s Festival of American Fiddle Tunes having been on staff there many times.
