September 2017 - Old Time Jam, Square Dance on Union Wharf, Contra Dance, Laurie Lewis and The Right Hands: Workshop and Concert

September 6, 7:00 Quimper Grange Old Time Jam

David Margolin will be kicking off Quimper Grange jamming season on September 6 by serving up a variety of weird and quirky tunes in the keys of A modal and D. He'll start off by teaching "Sally Comin' through the Rye", an A modal tune he learned from Jimmy Tripplett.

If you have not participated in the jam before the focus of our jams is string band music, all of the tunes are selected by the person leading the jam and we usually play in two keys so the banjo players don't have to retune a bunch of times.  Newcomers are welcome.

Snacks to share are appreciated. Suggested donation is $1-$2 to help cover costs of using the hall. (Doors open at 6:45)
If you have any questions call Marla 360-385-6924

September 9th - Wharf Square Dance with Gabe Strand and The Dry Hoppers

Wharf Dance caller Gabe Strand
Seattle caller, Gabe Strand and The Dry Hoppers will be hosting the monthly Quimper Grange Square Dance and Social in September.  And, just for fun, and just because it's Wooden Boat weekend in Port Townsend, we are going to dance on Union Wharf, at the foot of Taylor Street in downtown Port Townsend. Celebrate this year's festival with a square dance under the stars on Union Wharf.. From 8 PM to 11 PM.  Free.
