2022 Year End Wrap-up

Dear Quimper Grange Friends,

What a whirlwind of a year this has been! Keeping the Grange Hall open during a pandemic has had its set of challenges along with the rewards of serving our community. Our Merv-13 air filtration system, installed last year, helped us to determine the safe opening of the space for renters early in 2022. And, the Boeing Bluebills came and replaced a rotting ramp for easier disabled access.

KPTZ ran an interview about us on October 21. You can go hear it at https://kptz.org/2022/10/22/community-tides-10-21-22/

As most of you know, our Grange focuses on the needs of our community. In addition to supporting agriculture by way of the Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden located behind the hall, we have also supported community events such as sponsoring concerts, lectures, dances, and music jams. Here is a rundown of the events that you helped us sponsor this year:

• March – Keltoi: Scottish & Irish dance concert.
• April – Monthly Balkan Dance Party resumed; new flooring installed; Gerry O’Connor & Richard Mandel concert; Co-Housing lecture.
• May – Michael Palzewiscz Trio concert.
• June – True Life Trio concert.
• July – New ramp & porch upgrade.
• August – Growing Groceries: Winter Gardening lecture.
• September – John O’Connor poetry and music; Grange Open House & Ice Cream Social.
• October – Fireworks in Film & TV Storytelling series
• November – Monthly Old Time Jam resumed; Elizabeth LaPrelle & Brian Dolphin concert; Monthly Balfolk dance resumes.
• And, more fun in 2023: see our quimpergrange.com tab Grange Events List to see upcoming events!

We are grateful to each of you for helping us provide these, and future offerings. They help us keep our selves and our community healthy and vibrant. We look forward to your continued membership to keep us going, and keep us growing! Our monthly meetings are happening now in person, the 3rd Sunday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. at the Grange Hall. Please come to a meeting or two if you are able and help us plan the future.
