John “Greyhound” Maxwell brings his singular approach to slide guitar and mandolin, paying homage to the craft and tradition of the masters, while infusing the music with fresh energy. David Lindley is quoted as saying, “John is the best bottleneck player I’ve heard in a long time.” In recent years John has opened for Taj Mahal and KebMo at Saint Michelle Winery, David Lindley, Maria Muldaur, Marcia Ball, Ruthie Foster and more. This event is co-sponsored by Food Bank Growers and Quimper Grange and is open to the public.

You bring: work gloves, your garden tools (labeled with your name), and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We provide: files, whetstones, oils, rags, wire brushes, and best of all, mentorship so that you can learn how to maintain your own tools at home.

Food Bank Garden News
The Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden donated over 200# veggies to the PT Food Bank and Recovery Cafe in January & February, when fresh greens were hard to be found. Much appreciation to the sturdy Northwest volunteers! Right now, you can plant fava (broad) beans, snap peas, and some Asian greens (covered) in the ground. March is also the time that you can start tomatoes and peppers if you can keep them warm. Also, we need help for pot-washing, no experience necessary! Many supplies from last year need to be sanitized for our new crops of spring veggie starts. Come join the team, on Tues or Fri afternoons, 1:00-3:00 to have fun and learn about growing. Have more fun in a garden than you ever thought possible! Contact FoodBankGrowers@gmail.com to volunteer in this, or any of the other of our 12 food bank gardens.
